the mind of Dale

I’m proud of my ability to stay true to myself, to know my purpose, and to take bold risks and leaps of faith.

Hi Dale,

We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.

I have had the privilege of embarking on a remarkable journey as a professional performer and dancer. It all began at Legs Dance Studios and continued at Brent Street Studios in Sydney, Australia, where I meticulously honed my craft, laying the foundation for what would become a distinguished career.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to grace stages around the world, collaborating with esteemed artists such as Hans Zimmer and sharing moments with renowned musicians like Delta Goodrem and Kelly Clarkson. These experiences have not only enriched my artistry but also broadened my perspective on just how big the world of the dance is and how much opportunities are out there.

One significant milestone in my journey was my time at Universal Studios Singapore, where I had the privilege of captivating audiences in the show Monster Rock where I played Dracula and which really was an amazing triple threat character, acting, singing and dancing. This international exposure further fueled my passion for performance and inspired me to seek new opportunities for artistic expression.

My decision to make the move to the United States was motivated by the boundless opportunities it offers to artists like myself. Joining Chace Dance Company marks an exciting chapter in my career, where I will have the privilege of leading elite-level training programs in Jazz, Musical Theatre, Latin Fusion, and more.

My career as a performer has taken me to some incredible places, including multi-million dollar casino shows around the world. I’ve had the privilege of gracing stages at renowned venues like Resorts World Sentosa in Singapore, where I performed in the breathtaking “Lightseeker” production. I’ve also been part of “SolAria” for Angelis Productions, wowing audiences with my dance performances. And let’s not forget “Bon Voyage” at Star Casino Australia, where I shared the stage with the legendary illusionist Michael Boyd. These experiences have really solidified my reputation as a versatile entertainer, and I’m grateful for every opportunity to showcase my talent and artistry to audiences worldwide.

In addition to my career as a professional dancer, I am also a co-founder and co-owner, alongside my husband Adrian Bennett, of Mission Entertainment Co., our very own entertainment company. With Mission Entertainment Co., we have had the privilege of traveling across Australia, presenting full-scale production shows such as “Vegas After Dark,” “Iconic,” “Naughty or Nice,” and more. Beyond performances, we are deeply committed to nurturing talent and fostering growth within the industry. That’s why we’ve established the Mission Master Course, a comprehensive six-month program designed to equip aspiring performers with the skills they need to succeed. From audition techniques to dance, vocal training, acting, aerial circus and beyond, our courses offer professional development, and one big goal is to one day expand our reach and bring our acclaimed shows and courses to the United States, confident that they stand among the best in the world

I am absolutely thrilled to embark on this next chapter of my journey as a professional performer and dance mentor, especially as it takes me to the United States. The opportunity to spread my wings and make a meaningful impact in the American dance scene fills me with excitement and anticipation. Joining Chase Dance Company is a dream come true, and I am eager to dive into elite-level training programs encompassing various dance styles. From the vibrant streets of LA to the dazzling stages of Vegas and even the iconic theaters of Broadway, I am ready to tackle every challenge and embrace every opportunity that comes my way. America has always been a beacon of opportunity for artists like myself, and I am ready to seize it with all my passion and dedication.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?

I’ve found that the entertainment industry is undeniably demanding, putting performers through a gauntlet of challenges that test not just talent, but resilience too. Rejection is par for the course; for every yes, there are countless nos. Auditions often feel cutthroat, with fierce competition among a sea of equally talented individuals. Each audition is a precious opportunity to showcase oneself in the best light possible, amidst a crowd of equally deserving candidates. Even when faced with illness or injury, pushing through is a must, knowing that perseverance often holds the key to success. It’s a lesson I’ve learned over the years: excellence on stage isn’t enough. Personal qualities like likability, professionalism, and teamwork are just as crucial. A bad attitude can sink even the most promising career prospects. That’s why developing thick skin, nurturing genuine passion, and committing to continual growth are indispensable traits for navigating the twists and turns of the entertainment industry and coming out on top.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

What sets me apart and what I’m most proud of is my unwavering focus from the tender age of 5 to be a significant presence in the entertainment industry. That determination has never wavered. Even in primary school, I was already directing and creating shows for my friends, driven by an innate knowing that I was destined to traverse the globe as a dancer. I take immense pride in ignoring the voices urging me to conform to conventional academic paths; instead, I embraced my uniqueness and creativity. This decision has led to a life rich with experiences, constantly taking me around the world since I began my professional journey as a dancer at age 17. I’m proud of my ability to stay true to myself, to know my purpose, and to take bold risks and leaps of faith. From dancing in multi-million dollar shows to producing and creating my dream productions that have toured Australia, and sharing the stage with household names, each moment reaffirms the wisdom of following one’s passion. I firmly believe that if you have a passion, you must pursue it relentlessly. Don’t ever doubt its validity or worthiness. Some spend their whole lives searching for their passion, so if you’re fortunate enough to know yours, chase it with unwavering determination. Every second is worth it.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?

As a documentary enthusiast, I’m particularly drawn to the golden era of Hollywood, the heyday of MGM, and the glamour of old movie stars. Watching documentaries on these subjects transports me to a bygone era, fueling my passion for the classic movie musicals that continue to inspire me. When it comes to creating shows, my greatest inspiration stems from the allure of old Hollywood—the vibrant colors, the palpable excitement, and the dreamlike quality that permeates those productions. As for modern-day tools that aid me in my creative endeavors, I rely heavily on apps like Canva, Photoshop, and Wix. These platforms are invaluable for presenting and crafting user-friendly content, allowing me to bring my visions to life with ease and finesse.
